The Confessor's White Dress Post #4 It's Done!!!

Okay...although the dress is put together, there is still a ton of things I want to do to it to make it a lot better, but it was still SUCH fun wearing it last night!!! I wish I had more time to take pics before we headed out the door, but I was literally lacing up the front as everyone was yelling, "hurry up!" lol.

I must say I am relieved that this project is no longer going to be rushed because it is a nice dress and it does fit me well. I plan to keep working on it through the next few months and make it even better, but for now the dress is done. (When I do add something else I'll be sure to write an update post!)

Here are a few pics to show you how the front of the dress turned out. I must say I was quite pleased since I had zero clue as to what I was doing. I know I said this about everything else, but really...I had NO clue how to lace up a dress front.

In case this is your first post to read...I made this dress without any patterns and only by viewing photos I found online and from snapshots from scenes in the TV show Legend of the Seeker. Over all this dress probably cost me less than $3 since I bought the ribbion for .50 cents at a thrift store awhile back I had msot of the sheets given to me and two of the sheets I used were .50 cents each too.

The hood looks amazing! It actually needs a lining on the inside still, but you couldn't tell. Unfortunately it wouldn't stay on when I would walk around because it wasn't heavy enough. This is another thing I'll fix in the future.

Buddy insisted on sitting in front of me so he could be in the picture. I was too tired to care, but really I didn't mind. He is a good dog. I didn't have time to sew together the other black undershirt I wanted to wear under the dress so I had to constantly watch the neckline of the one I am wearing here in this pic. I will be putting together that tank before I wear this dress again that much is FOR SURE!

I was very sad to take off the dress. It was SO fun to wear! Not only was it comfortable but it was also warm too!

I do have to say that I would make a dress like this again, but I wouldn't add a hood...and I would give myself more than three days to put it together!

Read the other posts in this series (links open in this same window): My Halloween Costume Inspiration, Sneak Peek | Confessors White Dress, The Confessor's White Dress Post #2 | Adding The Sleeves, The Confessor's White Dress Post #3 | Adding The Hood. I have a ton more to write about the making of this dress so as I write those posts I will be sure to link them up together at the bottom of each post so that they are all connected!
