Mini Cheesecakes

This recipe is one that I've used for YEARS and it is ever-popular! I served these beauties at the Rehearsal dinner on February 13th, 2013 just before Autry & I got married.
Again, they were a huge hit!

Ingredients
1 pkg of graham crackers, crumbled
1/4 cup sugar
1 stick butter
3 8 oz. pkgs. cream cheese, softened
1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
3 eggs
cinnamon for topping

Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees.
2. Put the package (8 full rectangles) of graham crackers into a ziploc bag and crush them. Set aside.
3. In a microwave safe bowl, melt the butter. Pour in the sugar until almost dissolved  Add in the graham cracker crumbs. This is your base for the mini cheesecakes.
4. Grease 24 muffin tins. Spoon the graham cracker mix into each tin. Thoroughly mash the crumbs together to form the crust.
5. In another microwave safe bowl soften your cream cheese.
6. Add in the sweetened condensed milk and stir.
7. Add in the vanilla.
8. Add in the eggs one at a time.
9. Stir the mix until smooth. Scoop 1/4 cup of cheese mix into each prepared muffin tin with the crust.
10. Bake the cheesecakes for 20 minutes. They will look light and fluffy when they're ready to be removed. When the timer goes off pull out the cheesecakes and set in a place to cool.
11. Use a dinner knife to make sure all the edges are away from the pan before carefully removing and putting on a plate.

Notes
~You can eat the cakes the same day, but I've usually made them ahead of time so that they could be refrigerated.

My Spring 10 List

Hi everyone! As my very old readers know, I LOVE making bucket lists!! And even though I am a big dreamer, I don't always get the whole list complete in what ever season I started it...but they're still fun to put together and try to work on. I've decided that for this spring I will have a list of only 10 things so that maybe I'll be able to complete almost everything on it.

Thank you to Noni @ I Love You My Dear for reminding me to make a list! {See her's here!}

I plan to start and hopefully complete this list starting today (March 21st) and hopefully finish by the end of May! Wish me luck as I begin this fun adventure!!!

My List!

1. Make 10 new skirts.
2. Go to yard sales.

Emerald. Read about her here!
3. Find the perfect kitty to adopt.
4. Start an indoor herb garden.
5. Find/make 3 jersey cotton maxi skirts.
6. Learn how to do pin curls.
7. Make a messenger bag.
8. Redo my planner/organizer.
9. Go camping!!!
10. Finish decorating the house.

What are your plans for this Spring?

Apostolic Links Updates #12

Hi ladies (and everyone visiting today)! It has been too long since I wrote an update for the Apostolic Pentecostal Bloggers & Pinners Link-Up. With that being said, here are a few important updates!

1. New Rules
I have decided to simplify things a LOT on these link-ups because I honestly don't have time to keep up with every single blogger I'm already following plus all the blogs on the link up each week/month...SO, in order to make my life a little easier I've simplified the link-up rules for future bloggers/pinners who might link up!

2. Link-Up Errors
I noticed last week that when I (or anyone else) submits a link to either link-up the program is not adding them! :( This is really frustrating. I am saying this so you know I'm aware of the problem and am looking into it. I may have to change to a new system...but if I do your links will be transferred by me so no worries there!!

3. Merge of Two Groups
In the past you may have noticed that there were two separate link-ups for bloggers on the AP page. I've done away with this and have combined the two into one single Apostolic Pentecostal Blogger Link-Up. Hopefully this helps do away with confusion that I've been made aware of in the past.

4. Updates via Email
I plan to send out a monthly email to all the bloggers/pinners on the link-ups so that you all are made aware of the new blogs/pinners which were added after you. This way you're still in the loop and you don't have to worry about stopping by to keep up. Of course stopping by is totally fine, but hopefully will be less necessary to keep informed.

5. Want To Join?
There's a few rules (see above!) but other than that it's simple. If you do/are those things then you're more than welcome link-up! However, since the link-ups aren't working correctly right now just leave me a comment or shoot me an email and I'll be sure to add your stuff to the list so I can add it as soon as I get the thing figured out.

6. Current List (February 23, 13)
Because it's been awhile since I've done an AP Update I'm gonna go ahead and include links here to all the blogs & Pinterest accounts so you can make sure to visit and/or follow the ones you don't already know about! I have a good size list that I plan to add to the link up in the future, but I have to figure out why the silly thing isn't working correctly before that will happen. I will continue updates as normal: letting everyone know the new blogs as they come to the link party!

Looking For An Email System!

Hey all you wonderful bloggers out there!

I am looking for an email system that is preferably free, but will still allow me to send out a mass reminder email for things like The Great Blog Train Blog Hop...

I am currently using Yahoo Mail, but they don't have the option to send a mass email like I really need...

What do you all use?

What are your thoughts on Mail Chip?

What about Constant Contact?

Are there any other systems out there that I should check into?

Help me please!! lol.

Thanks!

On Picket Fence Blogs!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to let y'all know that this weekend I added Blue Eyed Beauty Blog to Picket Fence Blogs! Some of you already know what that is, but for the rest of you:

Picket Fence Blogs is a site that was created because they believe that everyone should be given a fair chance to become popular and noticed for their ability(s). This next part is quoted directly from their about page: "Many blogs are passed up on a daily basis, simply because people do not know about them. Here we strive not only to show you the most popular blogs, but also the blogs of the most talented writers."

Anyone can create an account and add their blog to the pages of other blogs listed at Picket Fence Blogs. I have yet to add my other blogs to the site, but plan to do that in the near future!

{on the site earlier this morning!}

In the mean time, if you love and or enjoy reading Blue Eyed Beauty Blog please take a moment to vote for me by clicking this link! That's all it takes! You don't have to sign up for an account or anything to vote for your favorite blogs!!! :) I do believe that you can only have one vote per day, but still...that's a lot of votes even if only a few of you lovely readers voted! :)

Not only can you vote for my blog, but you can vote for a whole slew of other blogs too!

If you have any questions about Picket Fence Blogs I'd be more than happy to help answer them, but I am a VERY new user to the site so I might not know much on it as of yet.

I have added the button above to my side bar under the Connect label. By clicking on it any time you stop on by my blog you'll be voting for me!!! :) Easy as that!

As you can see I am quite excited about this new opportunity! But I'll try not to bore you with anymore details...for now lol.

Apostolic Style | Springy Purples

Today I have a fun outfit! I figured that since it's spring time now I should share something fun & springy! :)

Blogging Tips | Giving Credit Where Credit Is Due

Hey y'all! Have you ever notice at the bottom of *some* of my blog posts the little section labeled: This Post Was Shared! That little place is where I have chosen to take a moment to direct readers to the blogs/blog hops/link parties where I've shown off that particular post. Quite a few parties and blog hops actually ask for a link back to the hop...and all of them that do offer a button to add to that post...but if I've linked to 5 different parties that can start looking a little crazy and distracting at the bottom of my blog post and I really don't want the focus to be on the bottom of the post...nope! I want it to be on what I originally wrote! SO using a simple text-only link I am still able to give credit where credit is due, still have a fabulous looking post without multiple distracting (although fun and colorful!) buttons at the bottom, and the bloggers I connected that post with still have a link back to their site! Win for everyone!

Why Link Back?
The importance of linking back is this: someone is putting together a party or hop where you're linking up...a little, but usually a lot, of traffic is directed right to your blog....it's only fair that you return the favor by adding a link to say, hey, I linked up over here....go check it out! ... Okay, so we don't actually say that, but it's still the point of putting that together, right?!

Use Simple Wording!
I chose to use simple wording which makes it obvious what on earth those links are for. "This Post Was Shared!" Everyone who reads those four words should pretty much know what I'm talking about (unless they're not a blogger, then they might be confused...but that part takes up so little of the post that it's probably ignored by non-bloggers). I choose to put the top text in bold because it is a new section unrelated to the post itself and should stand out just a bit...underlining, or putting in italics would probably work as well if those things weren't used much in the first part of the blog post. I put the links on a bullet list so that they can easily be distinguished from the one before it. This is especially helpful where I've linked up a post to multiple sites. And I ALWAYS have the title and links on the right of a post, even if the rest of the post is centered!

Direct Link vs. General Link
A Direct Link is where you place a link to the actual post of the blog hop/link party where you linked your post. General Link is where you link to a label or page on the persons blog who hosts the blog hop/link party.  Honestly either one is probably fine, but I prefer to link to the direct hop or link post where I shared my stuff. Mostly because I can just copy that URL and slap it onto my post much quicker than figuring out where the general link is for that blog hop/link party. No matter what link you choose to use make sure that EVERY link you add to the bottom of your post will open in a separate page. There's no reason to make it open on the page of your blog where your reader was! I'm not saying direct traffic away from your blog, I'm saying direct traffic to the host site...and not by having your blog page being closed either!

Just Do It!
The specifics of linking back to a blogger who is, in a sense, helping your blog out, really doesn't matter! Just do it! It's easy, it takes less than 5 minutes, and if you're sharing a post on multiple link parties/blog hops all you have to do is a bit of copying and pasting to keep that post up to date. Not only that, but sometimes when you're linking to multiple hops, people from those hops will see other hops you link to and probably end up joining them too!

Short Version
So basically what we have is this: use a few simple words to state what the links at the bottom of your post are for, add links with a bullet list for each blog hop or link party where you've shared that post, and save! Three simple steps that take less than 5 minutes of your time!

Goodbye Google Reader :(

Follow on Bloglovin

As you all might have seen on my blog I've added the above to my right sidebar with the recent announcement of Google Reader being shut down. I am quite sad to hear this since GFC is connected to that program and may be leaving as well. SO be sure you all follow along with another source and not just through GFC. Of course I name Bloglovin because it's similar to Google Reader, but any of my other outlets are great too!

Thanks so much for hanging in there and getting connected with Blue Eyed Beauty Blog! I really appreciate you taking the time to do this!

I know that with Bloglovin you should be able to transfer all the blogs you're currently following on GFC to Bloglovin in a few simple clicks. This saved me TONS of time since I'm following almost 300 blogs!

Anyway, make sure you get yourselves hooked up in some form or fashion aside from GFC as I would hate to loose all my favorite readers and commenters!

Other ways to connect are:

BEB Blog's Facebook Page!
of course there's Bloglovin!
My Twitter
BEB Blog on Pinterest!
and BEB Recipes on Pinterest!
and last of all subscribe via email!

Thank you once again!!!

Co-Hosting a Giveaway!

I'm helping Co-host a giveaway with Nicole @ Me & The Moon + 7 other ladies! Be sure to visit their blogs and of course ENTER THE GIVEAWAY below!!!

Cooking For 2 | Scrambled Pancakes

This recipe is one of those accidental stumble upon's which ends up turning out quite in the end! Have you ever had scrambled eggs? What about over easy eggs? Well this recipe presents the same concept. Regular pancakes are like the over-easy eggs, and this recipe is like the scrambled eggs! Sound gross? Well, I promise you it's NOT! It is very tasty indeed!

Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
2 cups milk
1/2 stick of butter, melted

Toppings
Flavored Yogurt
Syrup

Directions
1. Mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and sugar.
2. Add in the egg and milk. Stir until smooth.
3. Place the butter in a skillet and turn the stove on medium heat.
4. Once the butter is melted pour a few 1/2 cups of batter into the skillet.
5. Once one side has cooked a good bit 'scramble' the mix. Finish cooking until all the batter is turned into scrambled pancake. I would like you to know that the 'pancake' will look a little funky, but this is completely normal.
6. Once the 'pancake' is finished cooking place it on a plate. Scoop yogurt onto it and layer syrup on top!
7. Repeat steps 4-6 until all the batter is done. I was able to make 4, almost 5, scrambled pancakes with this recipe.

Notes
If you cook the batter on a griddle this recipe makes about 10 regular pancakes.

Okay, now that I got that said...let's get a glimpse of what I've been up to in the past three months! And that's SO much that it will take me a few weeks to get it all out, but I still can't wait to get sharing so here we go...

Blogs I've Found
And trust me, I found a whole bunch more than 10 blogs, but I don't want you to feel  overwhelmed so I'll be spreading these out.
