Craft Inspiration | Ideas For Using Salt Dough

Now that Thanksgiving is over I am in the process of preparing or getting more serious about finishing up Christmas gifts for the people I have on my list this year. One thing I've seen floating around Pinterest which I've loved so much are all the salt dough creations. I'm not sure what exactly I will end up making, but here is my collection on inspiration I will be pulling from in the next week or so when I make up my very first batch of Salt Dough! If they aren't presents for people (aka if I make something for my house) I will be posting some project pics, but otherwise it may be a while before I share any results of this inspiration post!

Doily to imprint dough.
Ive also though of using some lace scraps left over from sewing projects.

Use a jewelry hoop as an anchor point for ornaments.

Make Faux Stone Beads.
Although you can use them for much more than bracelets!

I really, really like this idea and might use this in my home.

I'm sure I'll come up with some lovely ideas with these photos as inspiration! I can't wait to get started on the projects I have in mind for the certain people on my Christmas list! :)

Words On Sunday| Simple Wonderful Life

(photo via Pinterest)

I really love this quote! I want to challenge you readers to find something each day this week that made your day wonderful even though it wasn't 'perfect'. If you have little kids and they were helping you fold laundry maybe the wonderful would be that they had folded their own clothes. No, it wasn't perfect like you would have folded it, but it's wonderful that they can take pride in something they did themselves! It can even be simpler than that, a picture they drew, or even getting dressed! And for yourself: anything that isn't perfect but is still wonderful and makes your day counts!!! Have a Simple Wonderful Week everyone! :)

Apostolic Links Updates #5 | AP on Pinterest Facebook Page

Nothing new to report as far as the links themselves go...BUT I have been busy with a new creation of a Facebook page which I hope will connect Pentecostal women in a different way that my blog never could! Basically it has the same title Apostolic Pentecostals on Pinterest, but the Link Up is still found here on my blog...since I can't actually add that to Facebook. I'm not really sure what I hope to accomplish with this new Facebook page but I felt compelled to make it so I stopped putting it off and just did it. If you have already linked up your boards then you will be linked through the Facebook page as well, that is one thing I plan to do. Okay, I think that's about all! Happy Sunday everyone! :)

Blog Posting Outline

As many of you readers may have noticed, I have a series running on almost every day of the week. I kind of did this on purpose so that I could blog about all the things I love and yet not overwhelm anyone with too many posts throughout the week from one particular subject since I will do my best to blog about those things only on their specific days. Some posts will still be at random, and that's just fine, but many of the posts I write will now come out on specific days and I feel this is important for the readership of my blog since I cover so many topics as it is.

So, to break it all down for you all, here is a list:

Monday
I will write about and publish posts to do with my budding survivalist skills, prepping for the future, politics, and DIY posts related to these topics. I will also be running the series The Survivalist Post where I will share some topic I've been interested in the previous week with all of you readers. If you are not interested in survivalist skills, prepping, or politics, please feel free to avoid my blog on Mondays! :) This is a fairly new subject on my blog so there are not a lot of posts as of yet, but I anticipate that I will be writing a lot on these subjects; prepping and survivalist to be specific. To view collections of posts already written click on the individual links here: Politics, Prepping, Survivalist. Or visit the Survivalist page.

Tuesday
For now Tuesday is when I will publish posts about style, fashion and everything related to that. As of right now there are no specific post series running on Tuesdays, but in the future I may come up with something that I like. For now you can enjoy looking through this previous series Styles I Like, or you can view the topics Style, Skirts, or Outfits. This will also include Beauty Tips and DIY Beauty posts in the future. Please visit the Style page for more.

Wednesday
On Wednesdays I will focus on Blogging Tips, shout outs, the Wednesday Weekly Review series, and all blog related posts. Hopefully this will include an occasional Blog Makeover too!

Thursday
Actually I have no specific plan for Thursdays at this time. Perhaps in January I will start a series about relationships & couples, but for now I have other things I need to focus on so this will have to wait. Until then I will post tidbits and other things on Thursday.

Friday
Just last week I started the series Homemaking 101. The point of this series is to show how I have been putting things together and what I've been doing to get prepared for marriage and owning my own home. I will be sharing things I've made, most of which will be DIY. I will also share my Thrift Store and Yard Sale Finds on Fridays. (View previous Thrifted posts.) So anything related to my future home or home decor or DIY for the home will now be posted on Fridays!

Saturday
All about me! Well, not really. I actually just plan to continue the series Things I Heart, and right now I'm doing the mini-series My Keepsake Box. As of right now I don't have plans to discontinue the Things I Heart series because I LOVE writing it so it will be around for a while. The My Keepsake Box mini-series is showing off different items that have been in my keepsake box since I was born and I dug them all out a few days ago to see if there was anything of interest for home decor and decided to do a blog mini series. If I come up with anything else to blog about me then it will be shared on Saturday as well. :)

Sunday
Because I host the Apostolic Pentecostal Bloggers & Pinners Link Up I run the updates on Sundays of any new links that have been added to either link up and then any other news which might be of interest to those who are in the group. Previous updates can be found here. Also on Sundays I run the series Words on Sunday where I share a photo with words on it and then write a tidbit beneath it as a thought for the week.

Well that is all for now! I am a girl with practically no life so I have plenty of time for blogging and I'm sure it shows lol! If you have any suggestions, comments, worries, concerns, etc. please share them in the comments below since I really do love feedback!

Libester Blog Award #2!

Wow I have been Nominated a second time for the Liebster award! I am so very honored! Thank you Nicole @ This Is The True Story! You are very sweet! :) Here is Nicole's post from where she was nominated!

Facts of the Liebster Award: The Liebster Award's origins are pretty much a mystery. Bloggers nominate other bloggers that have 200 or less followers. It's basically a "Hey, that's a sweet little blog you've got there. Here's an award!" You can't just accept the award. You have to play by the (ever changing) rules and pay it forward. Then you can put the award on your blog for all to see.

The Rules:
1. List 11 facts about yourself.
2. Answer the 11 questions given to you.
3. Create 11 new questions for the bloggers you nominate for the award.
4. Choose 11 bloggers with 200 or less followers to nominate.
5. Go to each bloggers page and let them know about the award.
6. Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog. (see the intro of this post!)

Here are the 11 Facts About Myself:

1. I have a slight obsession with scents and body sprays. In my bedroom I have a collection of about 20 different perfumes that I wear throughout the month! No joke. If it wasn't for the fact that I have no money my collection would be a whole lot bigger thanks to Bath & Body Works always coming up with a new delicious scent!

2. I am a very disorganized person. Have you seen my sewing table? Well, my whole room looks like that. I'm not sure if this is because I'm in the process of getting married eventually or what, but it does occasionally get on my nerves.

3. My purse is from Brazil. It is brown leather and my mom gave it to me when she went on a vacation there years ago!

4. I have too many projects going on right now. Sometimes I feel like I'm swimming in DIY bits and pieces just to get from one side of my room to another. See #2 lol.

5. I find that when I have migraines and spend most of the week in bed because of them my energy levels decrease a ton, by my wanting to do crafts and projects level stays the same...which can get SO frustrating!!!

6. I love my long denim skirts! I make them all myself! And I even wrote tutorials so you can make your own too (they're amazing in this fall and winter weather by the way!!!). Long Denim Skirt, Denim Skirt With Ruffles.

7. I like to snack on both sweet and salty things at the same time. Usually that involves some kind of chocolate and then something salty like pretzels, chips, pickles, pringles, etc.

8. I don't like chewable Vitamin C tablets. They are nasty! I don't care what 'flavor' they come in!!

9. I have the hardest time breaking bad habits. I really don't know why this is.

10. There are several things I check multiple times a day: my email, the latest comments on my blog, and the newest pins on Pinterest.

11. If the piece of clothing has lace or ruffles I'll probably love it!

The 11 Questions from Nicole:

1. What inspired you to blog? Oh yay! I was inspired to blog by my dear friend Kora who said to me one day, "hey have you ever seen the blog A Beautiful Mess?" At this point in my life I had no clue what blogging was or that there was even a world of bloggers out there! I was sure missing out! Thank you Kora @ Eclectic Darling for inspiring me!!

2. What is your favorite Holiday, and why? This is a really hard one for me because I love Christmas and the 4th of July a TON! I will choose Christmas though because you have so many more decoration options and because there is a bigger meaning behind it: the birth of Jesus!

3. What is your favorite song? Another tough one, and if you saw my post just a few days ago...I don't do well with picking just one song lol! I'd have to say Lee Brice: Love Like Crazy.

4. What's the most outrageous thing you have ever done? Lol I knew that this would happen to me at some point or another, well...once when I was young & stupid (not saying that I'm not young & stupid now, just sayin) I was with two of my guy friends and we were driving on some back roads going WAY too fast...and we topped a hill and just about crashed into another truck. Fortunately "friend a" was a good driver...the crazy part, none of us were wearing seatbelts and it was a big hill so we did bounce off the seats. I have to admit that was a really stupid thing to do and I DON'T suggest anyone else try it!!

5. If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be? Hmm, well lately I've been thinking about visiting Alaska...so I think I'd like to go there. :)

6. Is there a word or saying that you can't stand, if so what is it? Oh yes there sure is: when people say 'egspecially' instead of 'especially'! DRIVES ME NUTS!!

7. If you won the lottery what would be the first thing you would buy? I'd probably never win a lottery seeing as would never buy a ticket...

8. What is your worst fear? That I won't be able to have children. I want to have children so bad, but with everything I've been through I don't know if that's possible or if my body would be able to handle a pregnancy. For now I just have to keep reminding myself that I can't worry about that since I'm not ready to have kids seeing as I'm not married yet. I wrote more fears I have here as part of the 10 Day YOU Challenge.

9. What is your favorite candy? Does chocolate count? If not then I guess I'd have to say either skittles or tootsie rolls.

10. What is your favorite season and why? Summer! No question about it! I love swimming, being outdoors, fishing, barbecues...anything to do with summer I am there! :)

11. What is your favorite childhood memory? I remember when my Papa would come down for a visit and he would bring Froot Loops for all of us kids to eat for breakfast the next day! He brought them almost every single time he came. It was awesome! I used to have one of those spoons that turned colors when it was hot or cold...it came from a box of Froot Loops.
