Blue Eyed Beauty Blog: Survivalist

The term "Survivalist" to me means that you are prepared to survive harsh conditions using very little. Surviving is being able to continue life despite accidents, major weather events, and difficult circumstances. I is important to me to be prepared to survive something as small as a camping accident to something as big as a power outage due to a tornado/bad storm. Do I prepare constantly? No...but I do things every month that help me and my family be better prepared in case of an emergency.

Originally my main focus in being a survivalist was to be able to live in the woods with just a bag full of the necessities of life (otherwise known as a BOB) and myself/family to rely on. Since my first Survival post back in October 2012 I've learned a lot of useful things and realized that surviving doesn't have to be for certain people. It needs to be for everyone. Everyone should be prepared for something such as a natural disaster. I know when I lived in Oklahoma we knew exactly what to do the minute we knew a tornado was headed our way. It's more about being prepared and knowing ahead of time instead of waiting for the "moment of" to figure these things out. The prep work and information you can/are working on now will be good to know especially if you're an outdoor person who enjoys activites such as camping and hunting. It's also good information to know in case of other events such as power outages, tornadoes, floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc.

Anyway...I could go on about this stuff for quite awhile...so instead of just writing here I'll let you read the posts I've already written. I'm open to questions, but I may not have many answers...just a heads up. If you have any positive thoughts or helpful sites to add to it please leave me a comment and I'll for sure check it out!
