Hello everyone! Happy New Year!! I am REALLY excited about this next year of life I am just stepping into...why? Well, several reasons actually, but the main one is that Autry & I will be getting married so I will be experiencing a completely different life. Some differences will be I'll have to learn how to cook for 2 people instead of 8-10! Or I'll have to clean the whole entire house instead of just my room and one of the bathrooms that I currently clean...It's a huge change but I'm SO ready for it to take place!
Each year my mom asks us what our goals for this next year will be. Unfortunately I don't remember what my goals were for last year, but this year I have quite a few goals set up for myself and hope to work hard at them so I can either complete them or just be a better person.
Mom usually gave/gives us a paper with the following questions. We (the kids/family) would then write a goal for each of the following areas: Physical, Financial/Material/Money, Family, Business/Career/School, Social/Community/Others, Spiritual, Mental/Intellectual.
I chose to go with the number 5. I went through each of the categories mentioned above and {tried to} set five goals for all of them to accomplish or work on throughout this next year. Some have more, some have less, but that's what I aimed for...I also added two categories: Self & Blogging.
Here are my goals for 2013!
Physical
~Walk 30 minutes each day or more
~Get back into my old Curvy Girl routine
~Do my shoulder workouts
~Drink 60+ oz. of water a day
~Spend less time in bed sleeping
Financial/Material/Money
~Plan a budget with Autry & KEEP IT!
~Purchase a house
~Save money to buy a car or fix the current one
~Put money into a savings account
~Find {more} ways to be frugal & save money
Self
~Not procrastinate as much
~Get/Be more organized & orderly
~Spend less time on the laptop
~Spend more time working on projects
~Make a weekly schedule plan and {try to} stick with it
~Get to bed before 12 am each night
Family
~Marry Autry
~Talk to my out-of-state sister(s) more
~Visit my grandparent's as often as I can, hopefully at least once a month
~Adopt a dog that both Autry & I like & raise it well
Business/Career/School
~Make plans for a self-run business (Etsy/Storenvy possibly?)
~Set up a Craft Room
Social/Community/Others
~Volunteer somewhere for at least a month
Spiritual
~Read through my Bible
~Find a church to attend regularly
~Do a Bible study each month
Mental/Intellectual
~Do more research papers about things that are important to me
~Read 5 {novel size} books
~Read 1 non-fiction book
Blogging
~Get the Recipe Page project finished up so it's all in order
~Set up a page for Blog Design on BEB
~Work harder at keeping Exercise Encouragement Group Blog posted regulary
~Redesign 1 blog per month {12 total at least}
~Make a list of all the blogs I follow & read so I have all the links saved in one place
I am sure that I'll think of a few more things to add to this list in the next few days...or even months...but I think this is plenty to get me going with a fresh start and with some goals already in mind!
What are your goals?

That is quite a list! Good for you! It sounds like you have an exciting year ahead with getting married and all that entails plus of course your blogging and other goals. I am taking it rather slow for New Year goals. The only thing I have ironed out other than sticking with my devotional readings is to focus on a new change every two weeks. Hopefully, I will iron out some other nice plans. I joined a reading challenge for this year too. I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes. Good luck with all of your goals. :) Enjoy your new year!
ReplyDeleteWell it does sound like you'll have qutie a good year too by the looks of it! :) Thank you so much Kelly! I'm really looking forward to this year! I feel like my sitting on the edge time is finally up! (I've waited for my life to feel like it was going somewhere since October of 2010 when I was in the car wreck..and now it finally is!)

Wow! That's a great list of goals. I'm so excited for you getting married soon! Being married is seriously the best thing in the entire world. :) Well, I guess if you have a good guy it is.
ReplyDeleteMy only new year's resolution that I've made so far is to do yoga at least twice a week. It really makes a huge difference when I do!
Lol thanks!! Yay! That's good to know in advance lol. Yes, Autry is an awesome man. I'm so lucky to have him...and, as my Grandma K says: he's lucky to have me too! :)
DeleteBut at least you have a goal! That's better than no goals at all!
Helen
Wow, very ambitious and inspiring! Found you through the Blog Train hop and am a new follower now =)

Good luck with your resolutions! I've given up on making them since they're often too ambitious and improperly planned, but I think the new year is always a good time to reassess your goals and what you hope to achieve :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing on Waste Not Want Not Wednesday!
Oh that is sad! You should STILL make at least one goal for yourself this year! Even if you have to write it on a paper and stick it to your mirror, or the fridge door, or the steering wheel of your car...so you see it every day & are reminded to work towards that goal!

So people DON'T WANT TO SET GOALS??? It is far better to set several goals and only achieve one than to set zero goals and achieve them all. One year out of the 15 goals that I set, I found at the end of the year, surprisingly to me, I had achieved 9 of them!!! Set those goals and, here is the key, read them every day! Sandra~
