Welcome to the all-new Tuesday series: Apostolic Pentecostal Style! The purpose of this series is to put together outfits by using my Polyvore account and then sharing the modest clothing ideas with my readers. When I first started wearing skirts in 2011 I had THE WORST time finding cute outfit ideas anywhere on the internet... I want to help other girls & women create their own personal style by showing a different outfit set each week (as I can) with examples of cute outfits so that they can be inspired to dress more modestly with what they have!
This week I wanted to share with you a dressed up outfit...or as I call them: dressed for church! I am very new to Polyvore and I'm sure I'll eventually figure everything out on the site, but for my very first set I tried to stay as basic as possible since I didn't really know what I was doing. I consider my own style to be 'classic'. I like to layer clothes. I like to wear long skirts. I like pinned up hair. I like heels (although technically I'm not supposed to wear them because of my back problems). Of course all the outfits I plan to put together for this series will be something that I would actually wear so keep that in mind as I continue to write about modest style & my style in the same post!
Green Cashmere Cardigan. Beige Tank with Floral Lace Front & Ribbed Back. Rose Print Pencil Skirt. Nude Colored Heels. |
Today's outfit is a very classic look. You have the pencil skirt, heels, a fancy tank and a cute cardigan to cover the sleeveless shirt. I honestly wish all four of these items were in my closet right now...but alas, they are not! However...I DO have a plain cardigan (aka no embellishments), a lace front tank similar to the one in the photo, and a pencil skirt...although it is not in the beautiful rose floral print you see here. I don't have the heels though...and that's okay. I really don't need to have heels in my closet because I would wear them and then kick myself later when my back is in so much pain that I cannot move.
Anyway, I hope this was inspirational and helped you come up with possibly a new look for some of the clothes you already have in your closet! I know that I'm inspired and just might have to put together a similar outfit to post at a later date! :)

Very cute. I love the skirt. :) Pencil skirts are my faves. The cardigan is sweet too. I'm afraid I don't have many skirts in my closet that are good for this time of year. I really need to expand my wardrobe. :) Thanks for sharing your style.

I actually never owned a pencil skirt unitl the week before Christmas when I made one in an emergency since I needed a professional looking skirt and realized I didn't have one! lol. I love it a lot, but I wouldn't want to wear it all the time! :)
DeleteI love wearing skirts in general though. They are freeing, comfortable, and can be cute & stylish too!

I love how you find "cute" things to wear even though you are Apostolic! I grew up not being able to wear pants and so on but always found a way to make it look cute. It is definitely hard finding cute skirts with a good length.
ReplyDeleteOh my yes! I have found it easier to make my own skirts...but as far as shopping goes thrift stores and second hand stores have a wonderful amount of long skirts!
