A Change in LM's Posts

Due to a problem of having photos of my son saved off my blog and then shared publicly on Facebook pages of people who are not supposed to be doing that, I have taken down all the posts of Little Man that have photos involved in them. In addition, his name has been shared with these photos which is something that upsets me even more as I have worked extra hard to not have that plastered all over the place either. (Obviously on the blog he is known as Little Man or LM, and even my family members who share photos of him-with permission-don't use his real name). It makes me sad that this person cannot respect my privacy and wishes, but this is what I will have to do for now.

I am curious to know if anyone knows how to make photos on a blog to where they cannot be 'right clicked and saved' to a computer? I've seen blogs where you cannot save their photos this way and would like to be able to set that up on my blog as well. Any info or tutorials would be great! Thank you!

  1. I did a little research, and here's a few pages with tips. it sounds like, though you may not be able to stop it 100%, you can make it frustrating for "them" to copy and paste the photos. I like the "shrink wrap" technique.

    2. Hi Debbi, this is Naomi, Helen's sister. If I had simply been asked not to take these photos I would have done so. I did not think it was a problem, and therefore was not aware that there was a problem until my sister called me in the middle of the night, waking me up, demanding that I take her photos off of my facebook.

    3. Hi Debbi, this is Naomi, Helen's sister. Her so called "stalker". I was not aware that taking these photos was a problem until recently when my sister informed me that she didn't want me doing this. The situation, as usual, has been blown out of proportion by my sister.

  2. You might be able to do that (I know I've seen it done in the past) but be warned, if this person really cares about your wishes and privacy so little, he/she won't stop at that. That person could either take screen shots of the photo or take pictures of the screen with a cell phone. Really the only way to prevent LM's photo's from being shared is to either not post them at all or post them to a private blog to which that person does not have access. Obviously it's your choice what you do and I'm not advising you in any way, but if you are really concerned and upset about this then it's best to not post them at all. Sadly some people can't respect others at all :( I'm sorry you're in this situation.

    1. Yeah I think I will not be sharing public photos of him anymore. I might still do little photos like of hands or feet, but not facial photos, etc. In the beginning I really thought this would not be a problem with this person, but obviously they can't respect my wishes and now I will just have to be even more careful about what I share on my blog about LM.

    2. I've tried to block my pictures....but just like the previous blogger said, they can just screen shot it. Very frustrating! Good luck finding a solution!

  3. What a saddo this person has to be. It's a really nasty world we live in now, I'm sorry to say. Think you are very wise to do what you are doing, but it's a shame.

    1. This "saddo" is her sister. I was doing nothing wrong. If you knew my family, or truly knew my sister, you would not be calling me a saddo.

  5. How frustrating and sad that this is happening to you. Agree that you are taking the right steps. One idea - if you want to continue to post LM outfit photos, you could blur his face and/or add a cartoon face instead. Or just do body shots without his head.

  6. Oh my goodness that's horrible!! That's why I've been afraid to share photos of my nieces (I definitely won't now).
    Thanks

    1. What she deleted still shows up in my inbox and because there are people who think they know her, but really don't I am reposting her comment. I'm not going to even bother saying what parts of this are truth and false. That isn't what matters. What matters is people should see her for how she is and now how she portrays herself to them:

"I truly hope that your son will receive a better life than you had. The devil that is our mother has scarred you and I am heartbroken at your hate for me. This is insanity. If I truly wanted to hurt you I would have done more with those photos. But no, I did nothing but to share them with a few friends. What a sister you have turned out to be. I hope you are better to your son than this in the future.

Oh and thank you for making me look like the bad guy. You're just so perfect, how could I ever be like you??"
